Way Under Tree

This is another scene from the Sunol Wilderness Area (in California). When I saw it, I thought maybe it was too obvious so I kept walking, but after a few minutes I circled back. It's the smallest painting I did on this trip, but one of my favorites.

Upon request, I will take pictures and post about my 6x12in. panels and holder in a few days. : )

I'm really enjoying these impressionistic landscapes. The light is lovely in them and it's interesting seeing how you simplify down to blocks of colour. And yes please to the panels and holder info!

Hi Carol,
I think I commented on some of your cup paintings for the January 30 in 30. I came across your book at Barnes and Noble last week and I have to say, it's fantastic! I've had a huge case of artist block since January and reading about your experience has helped so much.

I also love that you put your paintings in a book. I was thinking about doing this myself back in January, but don't have enough yet.

Very nice place.
I have just question regarding the background... seems like nice sunny day, but the background looks quite dark - is it a sky or what? e.g. incoming storm...

Thanks you guys!

Jaroslav B, It was a background of more trees and foliage. The color was very green and it tended to blend right in with the tree, visually, so I added some purpley grey to separate it and push it back in space.
